Warehouse Manager

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager with skills and talents in all areas of warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience managing inventory, supply chains, problem-solving, leading and managing a team, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse. The role is more than just moving boxes — we're looking for someone who is highly competent, takes initiative to continually make things better, excels with minimal supervision, and who can build, lead, teach, and encourage their teams.

 

As our Warehouse Manager, you will work closely with the company President and members of the Operations team in implementing and managing processes.

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead, execute, and collaborate with key members of the leadership team

  • Build your knowledge and expertise to take on a forward-thinking leadership role as the organization grows

  • Fully manage a crew of warehouse personnel, including general laborers and forklift drivers. Crews may work multiple shifts and can range in size from two to ten employees. You are responsible for recruiting and developing Shift Leads to manage their respective shifts.

  • Supervise storage, order fulfillment, receiving, outbound operations, and supply levels

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels with monthly inventories

  • Supervise all warehouse operations and staff

  • Mentor staff to increase productivity and efficiency

  • Develop warehouse programs to keep staff safe, efficient, and motivated

  • Improve current operational efficiencies and processes

  • Manage warehouse operations for safe product handling and storage requirements

  • Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control

  • Maintain forklifts and other equipment inspections to guarantee good performance

  • Make sure warehouse locations are staffed to cover anticipated work loads

Requirements

Core Qualifications:

  • Physically fit, able to lift 70 lbs.

  • Team building and leadership ability

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Comfortable with technology

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural instruction manuals

 

Skills:

Management, supply chain, inventory control, warehousing, inspections, driving forklifts, technical training, shrink wrap machines

 

Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 5+ years applicable experience, preferably in manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, or distribution environments

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role

  • 1+ years management preferred

  • 1+ years forklift experience (excellent skills required – work by example)

  • General knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing HR practices

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
